Beschreibung

Quality of retinal image is affected by light diffraction in the eye's pupil, aberrations, and intraocular scattering, and hence there are so many vision problems such as refractive errors, Age-related macular degeneration defocus and Diabetic retinopathy which affect the eyesight and they can be treated with the eyeglasses, contact lenses and intraocular lenses IOLs. Contact lenses are thin, clear plastic disks, just like eyeglasses can improve vision problems such as refractive errors while intraocular lens that is placed surgically inside the eye. High performance contact lenses can be made of polymers with high transparency nanocomposites because of the need for optical plastic merits such as light weight, transparency, biocompatibility to the human eye tissues, the ability to modify its refractive index and abbe number. The evolution of polymer properties utilized in optical applications focuses on the refractive indecies, transparency and abbe number of the optical plastics that can be employed in the CLs fabrication or enhancement of them.
